Marian Benton began her real estate career as a Coldwell Banker agent in Ann Arbor, Michigan, rising to branch manager in the early 1990s. In 1999, she and David Benton made a pivotal decision — to purchase a Keller Williams franchise in Ann Arbor and build something of their own.
They launched with a core group of 40 agents. That office has since paid out over $3 million in profit share and has been the catalyst for countless careers, businesses, and leadership opportunities for the agents and staff who have been part of it.
“We didn’t just want to build a brokerage. We wanted to build a place where people could build their own businesses, create wealth, and leave a legacy.”
In 2004, then-President of Keller Williams Mark Willis gave Marian a rare opportunity — to earn ownership in the Inland Empire Region of Southern California. At the time, there were zero Keller Williams offices in the region.
Marian moved to California and began selling franchises, ultimately opening over 20 Keller Williams offices across the Inland Empire. The agents who joined those offices went on to become operating principals and owner-operators of multi-million dollar businesses.
Through the growth of the region, Marian and David personally came to own the Temecula and Riverside Keller Williams offices, adding them to the growing family of companies known as The Benton Group Network.
Today, the BG Network is a family of companies employing over 500 staff and Realtors across Michigan and Southern California, creating opportunities for collaboration, investing, wealth building, and developing the next generation of real estate leaders.
